There Will Be Blood: A Scientific Look at the Role of Blood Circulation in Bondage
11:45am - 1:15pm
Top & Bottom Focused
“Oh no…. that arm is purple, take them down!!!!” Bondage is inherently constrictive with the inevitable consequence of blood vessel compression. The system of blood flow and blood clot formation is a finely-tuned and stunning evolutionary achievement, but, bondage was not a driving participant in human development. When, if ever, can circulatory compromise become a problem and how as tops and bottoms can we inform ourselves to be able to assess when impaired circulation should be regarded as more than a pretty purple limb? This format of this class will include a layman-level review of the science behind bleeding, clotting and blood vessels followed by a loosely-structured question and answer format with class-participation to allow for discussion of relevant scenarios. Specific attention will be given to a discussion of the participation of those with bleeding and clotting disorders in rope bondage. There will be no tying in this class so feel free to come regardless of your skill level or partner availability. Come learn more about your body in rope!!
Sharing and participation are encouraged, they are not required.
